Vectorworks view - Rain Chain garden
We teamed up with Tamsin Slatter from Vectorworks Training for the Ecobuild 2011 show in March.
Wendy Allen Designs uses Vectorworks Landmark 2011 to produce CAD drawings for all projects.  This helps make our working processes very time efficient.  Together with hand drawn sketches, we can show our clients early in the design process how their completed garden will look.
Tamsin's presentations at Ecobuild illustrated how Vectorworks was invaluable in creating drawings for our 2009 award-winning garden at Hampton Court, using the following features of the software:
  • Area calculations
  • Hardscape tool
  • Site modelling tool
  • Planting tool
  • 3D modelling and rendering

Services
Other services
As well as design, we also offer a construction management and planting service, and work with professional landscape contractors and craftsmen.

We can provide whatever level of involvement you require, on any size of garden, landscape or green roof.

Although we are currently based in London, we are planning a move further West and will therefore be well placed to work on projects in Wiltshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire.  We can also undertake projects in the rest of the UK and internationally where feasible. Whether you need a masterplan for a large estate or a planting design for a low-maintence border, please get in touch with Wendy to discuss your project.

Sustainable Design
Considered, informed design
We believe sustainable design does not have to be strawbales and recycled wellies, although we like them too. We take pride in our extensive and up to date knowledge of locally sourced and recycled materials and sustainable construction methods. We are always happy to give suggestions and advice on how to achieve the contemporary space you want with minimal environmental impact.

Shown here, our garden ‘The Rain Chain’ at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in 2009 won the award for ‘Best Sustainable Garden’. It dealt with issues of flash flooding by using permeable surfaces, a green roof and a rain garden using plants tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions.
Green Roofs

We specialise in the design and planting of green roofs.
